De Palestijnse vlag was vroeger de vlag van de Arabische nationale beweging. In 1948 is hij tot Palestijnse vlag uitgeroepen. De kleuren gaan terug naar oude tijden: de tijd van de Profeet Mohammed (zwart), de Khawarij (rood), de Omayyaden (wit) en de Fatimiden (groen).

Zeven gemaskerde kolonisten hebben zondagnacht 15 mei bezittingen vernield en 2 schapen gedood in het Palestijnse dorp Tuba in de buurt van Hebron.

HEBRON (Ma'an) -- Seven masked settlers damaged property and killed two sheep in a Palestinian village near Hebron on Sunday night, Christian Peacemaker Teams reported.

The settlers stole seven sheep, killed two and injured others, including one which lost an eye, the Hebron-based peace group said in a statement.


The masked men also destroyed fences and a goat pen, turned over three water tanks, punctured three large sacks of yoghurt and damaged the ventilation pipe of an outhouse, CPT added.

Villagers phoned volunteers with the Christian Peacemaker Teams to ask for help when settlers entered Tuba at around midnight.

Residents asked the international volunteers to urge Israeli police to come to the village, but police officers refused to come because none of the villagers spoke Hebrew, the group said.
