SPECIALE SESSIE VAN HET 'RUSSELL TRIBUNAL ON PALESTINE' OVER GAZA 24 SEPTEMBER / 25 SEPTEMBER HOORZITTING IN HET EUROPEES PARLEMENT / WEES ERBIJ IN BRUSSEL
De buitengewone RToP-zitting is woensdag 24 september 2014 in de ‘Albert Hall’, Waversesteenweg 651, te 1040 Etterbeek (Centrum Brussel). Vanaf 9.30 uur.
Donderdag 25 september in de voormiddag presenteert de jury zijn bevindingen tijdens een persconferentie in het IPC (International Press Center). Daarna om 14 uur wordt een delegatie door het Europese Parlement ontvangen; voorts wordt een bericht van het RToP naar de openingszitting van de 69ste Algemene vergadering van de Verenigde Naties gezonden.

Israel’s Crimes in Gaza during Operation Protective Edge – Extraordinary session of the Russell Tribunal
24-25 September – Brussels – Albert Hall and the European Parliament
A few weeks ago, members of the Russell Tribunal on Palestine, outraged by Israel’s terrible assault on Gaza and its population, decided to start working on an extraordinary session of the Tribunal that will look into Israel’s Crimes (including War Crimes, Crimes against Humanity and the Crime of Genocide) during the still ongoing “Operation Protective Edge” as well as third States complicity.
During this session, that will take place in Brussels on 24th and 25th of September, our jury, so far composed of Michael Mansfield QC, John Dugard, Vandana Shiva, Christiane Hessel, Richard Falk, Ahdaf Soueif, Ken Loach, Paul Laverty, Roger Waters, Ronnie Kasrils, Radhia Nasraoui and Miguel Angel Estrella will listen to testimonies from Paul Behrens, Desmond Travers, David Sheen, Max Blumenthal, Eran Efrati, Mads Gilbert, Mohammed Abou-Arab, Mads Gilbert, Paul Mason, Martin Lejeune, Mohammed Omer, Raji Sourani, Ashraf Mashharawi, Ivan Karakashian, Agnes Bertrand and Michael Deas.
The jury will give its findings on 25th September in the morning during an international press conference at the International Press Center (IPC, Brussels). In the afternoon, the Jury will be received at the European parliament and address a message to the UN General Assembly for its reopening.

RToP special hearing on Gaza at the European Parliament – September 25
The Russell Tribunal on Palestine has the pleasure to invite you to a special hearing on Gaza at the European Parliament

Date: Thursday, September 25th 2014 from 14:00 to 16:00.
Location: European Parliament – ASP, Room A5G-3.
European Parliament: main entrance from the Place du Luxembourg
Following the extraordinary session of the Russell Tribunal on Palestine on Gaza, to take place on the 24th of September, the jury and witnesses of the tribunal will give a special hearing at the EU parliament. The topics that the jury and witnesses will touch upon include: War Crimes, Crimes against Humanity, Genocide, third states responsibilities and the role of civil society.
AGENDA:
14.00: Introduction by MEP Marisa Mathias.
14.10: Michael Mansfield, Human Rights lawyer will present the Russell Tribunal on Palestine and the main findings of the session on Gaza.
14.20: Max Blumenthal, American journalist, will address War Crimes in the broad sense.
14.30: David Sheen, Israeli journalist, will address the question of incitement for Genocide in Israeli politics and media.
14.40: Richard Falk, former UN Human Rights Council Special Rapporteur for Palestine, will focus on the genocide question.
14.50: Vandana Shiva, Indian activist and author, will speak about third parties complicity.
15:00: Mohammed Omer, Palestinian Journalist, will address the state of Gaza now.
15.10: Roger Waters, musician, will close the session and open the floor to questions.
